Chromax Commodities Pty Ltd mines, crushes, washes and concentrates chrome ore across the Northwest and Limpopo provinces — supplying local buyers and exporting concentrate to smelters in China, on valid mining rights with full statutory documentation.
A vertically integrated chrome operation, from pit to port.
We operate under a valid mining right with the full suite of documentation required in the Republic of South Africa. Our reserves are assessed continuously by a partnered geologist and drone survey team, giving us a clear read on ore depth, tonnage, and the working life of each pit before we mine it.
Every day we mine between 2,000 and 3,000 metric tonnes of chrome Run-of-Mine, graded from 30% to 44%, and sell it directly into the local market at prices set by demand, not by us. What doesn't meet ROM spec — the sweepings and low-grade material — goes through our washplant, where it's crushed, washed and upgraded into 40%–42% chrome concentrate for local sale and export to China, where it feeds smelters, manufacturers and, ultimately, the automotive and household goods industries.
Nothing leaves the site unaccounted for. Tailings and waste rock from processing are rehabilitated and directed into secondary production — cement, bricks and road-building material — so the land keeps working after the ore is gone. Our yellow machine operators and washplant crews are trained and equipped specifically for this operation, and we've built a repeat market for our product on the back of consistent grade and reliable supply.

Both products are priced against prevailing market benchmarks, not fixed lists — so buyers pay a fair rate for the grade they're actually getting.
Chrome ROM
Run-of-mine chrome ore, mined directly from our Northwest and Limpopo pits at 2,000–3,000MT a day and sold locally.

We've partnered with surrounding communities and other mines to deliver adequate, practical training to women and youth — building real skills for a sector that can sustain them long after the training ends.
